ANDHRA PRADESH TEMPLES

Andhra Pradesh from time immemorial, has attracted millions of pilgrims to its soil, not yearly but daily. Most of these pilgrims are visitors to the world famous Tirupati Temple, which is the richest Hindu temple in the world and the second most visited pilgrimage destination after Vatican.

There are not many pilgrim destinations in the world that are sacred to two religions. Andhra Pradesh is home to Amravati, which is exactly of this nature. Both Hindus and Buddhists consider Amravati to be pious. Lord Amreshwara Temple attracts huge number of Hindu Pilgrims, especially during Shivratri. Whereas, Amravati is also the oldest Buddhist settlement in India and has the largest stupa in the country.

Mecca Masjid is among the most important pilgrim destination for Muslims. Situated in Hyderabad, It was completed in the year 1694. The main attraction of Mecca Masjid is the grand hall rising to a height of 75 feet and with a width of 220 feet.

Birla Temple in Hyderabad. is arguably the most beautiful temples in the state. Completely build of marbles brought from Rajasthan, Its architecture is a mixture of styles employed in North Indian temples and South Indian temples.

Srisailam is another highly revered pilgrim destination for Hindus. Set in a magnificent natural backdrop 1500 feet above sea level, Srisailam is famous for Bhramaramha Mallikharajunaswami Temple which has one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
