At a distance of 60 Kms from Mangalore in the south
Indian state of Karnataka is Udupi. About 700 years back, Madhwacharya, the
propounder of Dwaitha philosophy made Udupi his home and delivered his
teaching to the people and during that period he founded the eight Sanyasi
Mutts at Udupi. This place is better known as the seat of Madhwa
renaissance, founded by the sage Madhwacharya, which resulted in the
establishement of the Ashtamathas, located in the famous Car Street,
surrounding the Sri Krishna Temple. The Krishna Temple at Udupi is one of
the major attraction in South India.
Also known as the temple city, Udupi is known to the millions of food

serves most delightful south Indian recipes.
