Adventure Tour Of North India covers destinations of North India that are most suited for experiencing the best of adventures. This Package is an adventurous trail of the Himalayas where trekking, skking and sightseeing are very common activities.
Day 1 - Delhi Arrival
Highlights:
Rickshaw Ride DelhiThis day you arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi. Once you board down from the plane, you are being greeted by our representatives. Then starts a drive to reach the hotel. On the way you get to see the lush greenery of Delhi along with the busy city life of Delhities. Delhi though being a metropolitan city is a combination of both urban and rural India. On one hand you can see road being blocked at several places for the construction of metro rail, whereas on the other place it is very common to see rickshaw and autos plying on roads. People also exhibit a colorful trend of modern and traditional dressing. On arrival to the hotel, you are greeted by the hotel authorities. Check into the hotel and later on enjoy the dinner with delicious cuisines of North India. Overnight is at the hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi Sightseeing
Highlights:
The sightseeing of Delhi is a dream trail as it traverses through the monuments and citadels of New and Old Delhi. We start the sightseeing with Qutub Minar that is regarded as a wonderful creation out of mere bricks. This campus of this brick minaret is also blessed with other attractions like that of the iron pillar and so you can try a hand on it. The driver of our cab then takes us to Lotus temple and within the silent precints of the temple you can sit down to meditate. The meditation in the temple relaxes our nerves and in that relaxed mood we reach Humayun's tomb. Here, a walk in the green gardens of the tomb further enthralls our spirit. As we continue our drive, we reach Akshardam temple – a recent contribution of modern art to India. Take pictures of this fantastic monument that is furnished with splendid domes and courtyard. We then drive you to Rashtrapati Bhawan where a shot walk on green lawns takes you to India Gate. Here, we take a shot break for lunch and later resume with our tour. We visit Raj Ghat where the 'Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi', brings in deep contemplation. From here, we drive you to Old Delhi where a Rickshaw ride on Nai Sarak, gives you the opportunity to pick up jewelries and books of your choice. Evening is entertaining with a 'light and sound' show in Red Fort that has footage of old mughal tails. Overnight is at the hotel.
Day 3 - Delhi – Shimla
Highlights:
Train Climb HillsToday we board the train to reach out for Shimla. The train climbs through hills and Plateus and bring to you a moment of joy that is fully filled with nature's liveliness. In Shimla, there are a lot of picturesque places to be seen and the romance of it sets in from the train jouney itself. This joy of travelling on the hills ends with a roaring entry of the train in the Railway Station at Shimla. On arrival, our representatives meet you in the station and guide you to the hotel. On reaching the hotel, check-in to spend the night in the comforts of the hotel.
Day 4 - Shimla Sightseeing
Highlights:
Morning, after your breakfast we start with the sightseeing of Shimla. This sightseeing consists of a visit to the Mall Road, where the main promenade takes us to a busy shopping area where you get to see old colonial buildings, souvenir shops and restaurants. We then continue drive to the Viceregal Lodge – now converted to Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. Our tour guides then take us to Himachal State Museum that is very close to the institute and is famous for stone sculptors, local handicrafts, textiles and embroidery. Following this, we take you to the highest point in Shimla – the Jakhoo Hill and from its great height a very rewarding view of the town and its surroundings is visible. Summer Hill come to us as the next fascination as it is here that Mahatma Gandhi used to stay during his visits to Shimla. Chadwick Falls is situated just beyond the Summer Hill and it is awesome to see the deep gorge of the falls. Photography at this location is a good option. We then take you to Tapta Pani and later in the evening to Lakkar Bazaar where the maket will surely charm you with its variety of logs. Night is at the hotel.
Day 5 - Shimla - Narkanda – Sarahan
Highlights:
Bhimakali Temple SarahanAfter breakfast in the morning, an enthralling Jeep safari takes over the charge. The safari takes us to Sarahan that is famous for its temple with the name of Bhimakali. This temple is famous for its architectural design that is both a blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. Explore every details of the temple and take pictures of it. Then, we check into a hotel in Sarahan. Night at the hotel is an excitement as we make tents in the green lawns of the hotel and spend the night in midst of a bonfire.
Day 6 - Shimla – Kufri
Highlights:
Kufri is at a distance of 16 kms from Shimla. This place is famous for its trekking and hiking trails. Kufri is also famous for its nature parks and picnic spots. The parks make this place suitable for adventure activities as skiing and trekking of hills are very common here. Kufri being a small Hill Station has beautiful and cold refreshing atmosphere that pervades it. In summers, travellers get to enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding verdant valley along with picknicking, hiking and trekking hills in and around Kufri. Hiking is best around thick forest in Kufri to reach the Mahasu Peak. The other places that are of immese interest in Kufri are the Himalayan Nature Park and a Potato research Station. Collect some potatoes from the research station and ask your cook of the hotel to make some dishes of it. In winters, the snow covered slopes of Kufri become alive as the skiers and other visitors make it lively with their daring stunts.
Day 7 - Sarahan – Sangla
Highlights:
After breakfast, we take you to Sangla from Sarahan. This journey is also on a jeep and on reaching, you are taken to a camp that is located on the bank of river Baspa. The evening is on Kamru Fort – a fort of the Kings of Kinnaur. Trek the hills to reach up to the fort and on reaching its summit you get a spenderous view of the village below. Later, return to the camp and spend the night rejoicing with other folks of the camps.
Day 8 - Sangla - Chitkul Pass – Puh
Highlights:
Jeep SafariThis day, we engage ourselves in a jeep safari to reach Chitkul pass. The journey is thrilling as the jeep lifts itself to the hills without a halt. As we drive up to the pass, nature comes to us as an uncompromising peaceful sojourn. The curves of the road also lent us with a zeal of excitement. This adventurous trip to Chitkul Pass is surely to leave a strong imprint on your mind. We then return back to Sangla to rest for a while and to have our lunch. The scenic beauty of Sangla is an impeccale charm in itself and every photograph that you click has bounties of nature at its bakground. After lunch, we take you for an interesting drive to puh – that is very close to the Tibetan border. This place is famous for its grapes and Deodar trees so once you arrive to this place enter into the grape gardens to pluck some grapes. In Puh, staying in tents is very common and so we too will spend the night in tents and beat the daunting coldness of the Himalayas.
Day 9 - Puh – Kaza
Highlights:
As the dawn breaks with the chirping of birds, wake up to freshen up yourself with stream waters flowing nearby the tents. Then we once again start with our jeep safari to reach Kazra. On the way, a halt is made on the Tabo Monastery – an ancient monastery founded more than a millennium back. Spend some time in this spiritual abode and later continue drive to Kaza. On arrival to Kaza, check into the hotel and then spend the rest of the time being at leisure. You can either trek the nearby hills as it is always sporty to involve in such adventures. Overnight is at the hotel.
Day 10 - Kaza
Highlights:
Trekking in KazaThis day we start with an excursion trip of the Himalayas. Here, we visit the Kye Monastery that is famous for its collection of scriptures and paintings. This monastery serves as a great feast to the eye for it has rare collection of old paintings and artefacts that incredibly help enhance the knowledge of an artist. We also engage ourselves in mountain trekking in Kaza and later onwards we drive to Kibber Village – regarded as the highest village of the world. Explore the quaint life of the village and then we return back to Kaza to spend the night at the hotel in Kaza.
Day 11 - Kaza – Batal
Highlights:
After having breakfast, we proceed for Batal via Kunzum pass. We reach this place by trekking the hills of the Himalayas, climbing the hills, simultaneously traveling in Himalayas and camping on the hills. It is a great experiene to reach this place as you get to walk on the hills, valleys and plains of the this Himalayan Kingdom. On the way to Batal be cautious of the 'Zeherili Buti (Poisonous Herbs)' as they cause real irritation of the skin if touched. Our guides, however, will help you recognise these herbs. On reaching Batal, tents are organised and so overnight stay is in tents.
Day 12 - Batal – Jispa
Highlights:
Jeep SafariMorning, we once again start jeep safari to reach Jispa. On the way, we get to see the Bara Shigri Glacier that in itself is so mesmerising that anyone who is brought here, would start feelng that he is in paradise. As we continue with our drive we reach the Khardong Monastery. This monastery is also named as the Oasis of greenfields for it is full of greenery. Walk on the green coated lawns of the monastery. Then we take you for white water river rafting on Bagha river. It is an absolute thill to experience the rafting and later on we drive to a camp in Jispa for overnight stay. Night is at the camp in Jispa.
Day 13 - Jispa – Sarchu
Highlights:
Morning after having breakfast, enjoy a jeep ride to reach Sarchu via Baralacha pass. This pass is full of natural beauties for you to enjoy. So revel in nature's wilderness as the four wheels of your jeep cuts across the unique ecosystem of the valley. Once you reach Sarchu take short trips of the nearby mountain glaciers and engage yourself in skking at its glaciers. Sarchu being at a tremendously great height gives a great experience of skiing on the snow clad mountains. Having experienced the skiing, we bring you to base camps for overnight stay. Night is in the camp in Sarchu.
Day 14 - Sarchu – Leh
Highlights:
River Rafting LehMorning wake up to relive in the mountaineous glaciers. After breakfast in the camp, we start our drive toward Leh – considered as one of the most beauitful places of the Himalayan Kingdom. This place hosts all kind of mountaineous adventure sports like Skiing, River Rafting, Mountain Trekking and Safaris like Jeep and Yak Safaris. On arrival, check into hotel for overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 15 - Leh
Highlights:
Leh is the most adventurous of all the destinations that we have covered. Yak Safari, Jeep safari, trekking of mountians, Skiing on the snow are all possible here. So, wake up early as we start with this lingo. We first take you to desert mountains of Leh where you can see streams that raft through its endless peaks. The rocky hills, steep falls and valleys, snow covered slopes add to its beauty. Mountain climbing and trekking being the most exciting activity we get ourselves engagaed in climbing some of its steep peaks. On reaching the high slopes, you are left with the option of undertaking a Yak safari or engaging in skiing on its snow clad mountains. We suggest that you do both and spend the noons in literally nothing else but snow clad mountians. In the evening, take a horse safari and reach out for mountain peaks to see the sunset from its top. Night is at the hotel of Leh.
Day 16 - Leh
Highlights:
Morning, we take you for sightseeing of Leh. Some of the important places where we take you to are Sankar's Gompa, King's Palace and Phyang Gompas. These Gompas are masterwork and it is really fascinating to see the archways, carved pillars and domes of these moasteries. Take pictures of these monastries and then simultaneously visit the other monuments of this place like Shey Palace and Monastery, Hemis monastery and other fabulous ones like Thikse Monastery. The principles of Dalai Lama can well be seen to be followed in these monastries. So, it is evident that Dalai Lama maintains a very dominating presence in the hearts and minds of the people of this place. Overnight is at the hotel in Leh.
Day 17 - Leh – Delhi
Highlights:
Wake up early in the morning for today we are going to board the flight to Delhi. Arrive to the airport in time and board the plane. As the plane heads towads Delhi, you get to see picturesque view of Himalayas, its glacies, passes and valleys. The scenerio slowly changes from Hills to Plains and slowly from the mist of clouds comes in view the city of Delhi. Land on the airport and you are greeted by our representatives. You are then taken to the international airport where you board the flight that takes you back home.
