The next attraction in our itinerary is the Santa Cruz Basilica, located on the Rampart Road. This 500 year old Portuguese built church is a wonder in itself. We will take you to the inside where you can see impressive carvings and stained glass work and the life-like caryatids watching over the quaint confessional boxes. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Grand Hotel's restaurant. The 'meen pollichathu', a delicious fish fillet coated with spice paste, is a complimentary dish from our side. After a rigorous pamper with herbal massage and Panchkarma treatment, head towards Alappuzha, the land of backwaters. To make your journey enjoyable, we have planned your stay in luxurious houseboats (Gold Star). The cruise will go past swathes of palm trees, vast paddy fields and small villages and you can enjoy a beautiful sight of Kerala rural life from a close proximity.

Watch women spinning coir in their courtyards, children diving into the emerald waters, fishermen catching fresh haul or farmers ploughing the green paddy fields. We will take a halt at Karumadikuttan, a virgin village famous for its black granite idol of Lord Buddha and handicrafts. See local artisans creating magic in fabrics and wood. Relax on your cozy bed and enjoy the Kerala backwaters from the window, that is located at the exact height of bed so that you get a good view even while lying. After some time you can see colourful birds, flying over your 'kettuvallam' (houseboat). We are at Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Day 3 : Trivandrum

Day 4 : Periyar

Elephants at Periyar Leave early morning for the jungles of Periyar. It is a long journey of six hours, so prepare yourself for a good ride through the heart of Kerala. Day 6 : Munnar - Athirapally Waterfall - Wayanad

If lucky, you can even see a herd of elephants playing amidst the bushes. Travel with us to another green destination of Kerala, in Wayanad. Enroute halt at world famous Athirapally and Vazhachal Waterfalls. You will be amazed to see the 80ft high waterfall, that starts calmly from the high ranges, and crashes down through gorges overhung with trees, its white spray of water appears almost magical from the rocky road that swerves around the mountain. After lunch, we will take you to Kozhikode, a place still carrying the ancient footprints of Portuguese traveller, Vasco da Gama. Welcome to Kappad Beach Resort, the only thing that roosts beside those ancient footprints on the sands of Kappad. After you refresh yourself, we will take you to the famous Kappad beach. Our guide will show you the sprawling rock that extends into the sea carrying the event when Vasco da Gama came here. Vadakkunathan Temple, ThrissurIn the morning, after your breakfast we will take you back to the commercial capital at Kochi with an enroute halt at the Hindu heartland and the cultural capital of Kerala at Thrissur. A town whose heart is stuffed with tradition, a vibrant school of literature and arts, Trichur, is a town so content with its past that modernity is still something to be gaped at. We will take you to the famous Vadakkunathan (Shiva) Temple, where you can behold ancient Hindu customs being performed, a magnificent thing to experience. Next in our itinerary is the Marthoma Mariam Big Church. Here you can see huge chandeliers and coloured glass balls dangling from the ceiling, the choir's gallery and a tulip-shaped pulpit, but no image of Lord Jesus save the cross. Continue with our journey to Kochi.
