The city of Nagpur famous as the second capital of
Maharashtra is one of the most upcoming destination of Maharashtra. Famous
for its juicy orange production the city is also known as the Orange City
of India. Looking at the orchards on the surrounding country sides is as
pleasant as looking into a fairy world. On lush green trees the sporadic

Being located on the banks of river Nag this city came to be known as Nagpur and history says that it was founded by one Gond king, Raja Bakht Buland in 1702. Later the city was taken over by the mighty Marathas. The Sitabuldi fort is a place to be visited by all in the city its historical is that conquering it was turning point for Britishers and downfall of Maratha rulers in 1817. And Nagpur has contributed a lot to the Indian freedom struggle. The city has hosted two annual sessions of Indian National Congress and Non Co-operation Movement was launched in Nagpur in 1920.

The location of this temple suits best to meditation and all tourists should participate in the religious rituals to receive blessing from the presiding god of this temple. Sri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir is the beautiful 90 year old made of marble and sandstone carvings. The presiding deities of this temple are the three principal characters of the holy epic - Ramayana. It is the place where the wishes are fulfilled.

The city is the best place where you can shop for the cotton textiles. Visit the Sitabuldi market and pickup the most exotic Nagpuri saris in pure cotton. The Maharashtra Emporium or Apna Bazar at Sitabuldi has also the durries and home spun carpets available at very reasonable prices. Don't miss the Chindi Bazar near cotton market where you can purchase cotton saris, bed sheets, pillow covers, towels and fabrics according to weight and Don't worry about the quality it remains as good as ever. It is not a bad idea at all to pack fresh oranges if you are there at a right time.
The strategic location of the Nagpur city has made it accessible all over the country through by all modes of transportation. Dr Dadasaheb International Airport contacts the city with all the major cities of India like Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata and Hyderabad and the international cities like Doha and Sharjah.
