Varanasi is the worlds oldest living city with 3000 years old history. Its ghats are the most important and complement the concept of divinity. With more than 100 ghats on the bank of river Ganga, thousands of pilgrimage throng the ghats to take the holy dip and offer prayers to the rising sun. Many ritual ceremonies are also performed here as it is considered auspicious. The ideal way to enjoy the ghats and the river is by taking a boat ride on the river Ganga. The popular ghats of Varanasi are the Dasaswamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, Kabir Ghat and Asi Ghat.
Kumbh Mela, Allahabad

Fatehpur Sikri - famous as a monumental town was the Capital city of the emperor Akbar. The city was built in the honor of the Muslim saint Khawaja Shaikh Salim Chisti who prophesied that Akbar would have three sons. The city did not last long as a capital, but it has been preserved in all its Mughal Glory and is still the object of architectural study - and of the admiration of millions. The Buland Darawaza (Gate of Victory) is the principle entrance, the Panch Mahal, Maryamuzzamani Palace, Birbal Bhavan and Jhoda Bhai palace, royal audience hall Jami Masjid and the ornate marble mausoleum of Salim Chisti are some of its hallmarks that are not to be missed in Fatehpur.
Dhamekh Stupa, Sarnath
Gautama Buddha the preacher of Buddhism has blessed the state with his foot impressions. He moved from place to place to enlighten the people and pioneer the new era of divinity in India. After achieving Nirvana he first preached his ideology some 2500 years ago at Dhamekh Stupa in Sarnath. The other important Buddhist sites are Kapilwastu now Piprahwa, Kaushambi, Kushinagar and Mahaparinirvana. How good it will be if you pay tribute to the preacher of truth, the great Gautama Buddha.
